Join me on Spoonflower's "Craft Friday"

I love teaching design tips that I have developed and think can help others. I was excited when Spoonflower asked me to collab again and make a tutorial for their “Craft Friday” (Black Friday) extravaganza. The holidays are about togetherness and crafting together is a great way to spend the holiday weekend. All day 11/27 they are featuring tutorials starting at 8am EST on their Instagram IGTV channel. Replays will be up on the channel for you to watch anytime!

I will be teaching how I make digital moodboards to inform my pattern designs. I collect imagery that helps me brainstorm and pull together my ideas into a cohesive moodboard. This moodboard is used to design my pattern or pattern collection. Using Pinterest, gathered materials, Illustrator (or Word) and your printer, you can create these boards easily.

Kid Made Modern Video Lesson: Pointillism

I recently created a video lesson for the fun children’s art and craft supply company, Kid Made Modern. I collaborated with the talented, MJ from @theresgoodinstore, to teach video lessons on their IGTV to their audience on art movements. In our videos we each teach an art lesson and style and provide a coloring page that can be downloaded and painted in that style. I created a lesson about the movement, Pointillism. We’re excited to welcome Jeanetta Gonzales @nettdesigns , an illustrator, designer and mentor, to our IGTV today! Jeanetta is teaching us about Pointillism, which is an art technique where color isn’t mixed before it is placed on the canvas. Instead, it is brushed on using small dots to make a shape or image. Join us as she shows us how to make Pointillism art from home using a printable found on the #gomakestuff blog, markers, and watercolor paints.
